accountool is a financial planning calculator platform operated by Gold Jaguar Pty Ltd on behalf of M G Arthur & Associates (“the firm”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
We collect: your name, email address, age and household composition; income, expenditure, asset, debt and superannuation figures you enter into the calculators; flags and notes you make for your accountant; technical metadata (browser, IP address) required to operate the service securely. We do not collect government identifiers (TFN, Medicare number) or banking credentials.
To produce the financial projections, scenarios, and recommendations the firm uses with you in advisory meetings; to authenticate you securely; to send you transactional notifications (e.g. when your accountant has reviewed a scenario). We do not use your data for marketing.
All client and calculator data is stored in Neon PostgreSQL, hosted in the Sydney region (ap-southeast-2, Australia). The application runs on Vercel's Sydney edge (syd1). Data is encrypted at rest and every connection uses TLS in transit. Authentication uses secure, httpOnly cookies.
Email notifications (e.g. “your accountant has reviewed your plan”) are sent through Resend, a US-based provider. Email metadata (your address, subject line, send timestamp) is processed in the United States. No financial figures are ever included in email content. By using the service you consent to this overseas disclosure for the purpose of email delivery.
Your financial data is accessible to you and to the accountants at the firm working on your file. The platform operates a firm-wide client model — every accountant in the firm can read and write any client record (a single shared book). Platform administrators at Gold Jaguar Pty Ltd may access data for technical support and incident response only, with the audit log recording every such access. We do not sell, rent or share your data with third parties for marketing.
accountool performs automated computations against the figures you enter — compound growth, drawdown projections, gap analyses, scenario comparisons. These are calculations only; they do not make financial decisions on your behalf. Outputs are projections based on the assumptions you (or your accountant) entered, not predictions or financial advice.
Your data is retained while you are an active client of the firm and for up to seven years after the engagement ends, in line with accountant record-keeping obligations. You may request earlier deletion at any time; we will action it within 30 days unless a legal hold prevents us, and we will tell you if it does.
Under APPs 12 and 13 you may request a copy of the personal information we hold and correct any inaccuracies. To raise an access, correction or deletion request, email privacy@accountool.com. We will respond within 30 days.
accountool is built for the Australian regulatory environment. The calculator UI offers an INR (₹) display setting for non-AU users, but the underlying tax, super, and projection logic remains AU-only — outputs do not reflect any non-AU regime. accountool is not certified for India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA), the EU GDPR, or any other non-AU privacy framework. Non-AU use is at your own risk.
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, email privacy@accountool.com first — we will investigate within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be flagged on next sign-in via the disclaimer modal and the “Effective” date at the top of this page will be updated.
